Yoshihito Nishioka meets Ugo Humbert in the semifinals of the 2020 Delray Beach Open. Will Humbert make another final, or will Nishioka get back into form?
Yoshihito Nishioka came through a very tough match against Brandon Nakashima in the quarterfinals. Nishioka was struggling a lot to maintain his serve and if it wasn't for Nakashima having the same issue, I am sure that Nishioka would have lost. Nishioka is trying to find his form again as he has a terrible 2019 season. Nishioka has an incredible game as he is incredibly quick and he will always give it his all. However, he will have to drastically improve his level in this semifinal as he meets a dangerous opponent.
Ugo Humbert has been very good in 2020. The young Frenchman has already won a title this year and he has showed some solid performances here in Delray Beach. Humbert absolutely destroyed home crowd favourite, Frances Tiafoe, in the quarterfinals beating him 6-1/6-2. Humbert has a great game, he is very precise and he is able to move around the court quickly. Humbert just needs to maintain his composure when things get tight and not try to overplay and make errors.
This will be the first meeting between both players and it is going to be a very tough match. Nishioka has a lot more experience than Humbert, however after seeing how bad and lucky he was on serve against Nakashima, I cannot back him to win. Look for Humbert to take advantage of the serve and dominate this encounter like he has done all tournament.
Ugo Humbert to win.
