Rafael Nadal meets fellow Spaniard, Pablo Andujar in the first-round of the 2020 Acapulco Open. Will Nadal get back on track after a tough loss in Australia?
Rafael Nadal suffered a tough loss to Dominic Thiem in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Australian Open and he looks to bounce back here in Acapulco. Nadal is one of the best players of all time, and that is both because of his ability to destroy opponents, but also because of his heart which never allows him to give up in matches. Nadal lost in the final last year in Acapulco, but he is on a mission to win it this year. Nadal will be looking at the draw and he will know he can win here if he plays at his best.
Pablo Andujar is one of the most inconsistent Spanish players I have ever seen. Andujar can compete with great players on his best days, but can lose to a nobody on his worst days. There is no in between with Andujar and this does not fill me with confidence when analysing his matches. Andujar will be looking at his draw and he will be extremely disappointed that he has to play Rafael Nadal. If Andujar wants to even compete, he will have to increase his level to the best its ever been.
This will be the fourth meeting between both players, with Nadal leading the H2H 3-0. Andujar has no chance in this match. Nadal will come out, look to bounce back from Australia and absolutely dominate. Nadal wants to win here in Acapulco and he is more than capable of doing so.
Rafael Nadal to win.
