Marseille Open Champion, Stefanos Tsitsipas, meets Spaniard, Pablo Carreno Busta, in the first-round of the 2020 Dubai Open. Will Tsitsipas shine again in Dubai?
Stefanos Tsitsipas was absolutely incredible last week in Marseille, only losing serve twice and not losing a single set. Tsitsipas successfully defended his title against a tough opponent in Felix Auger-Aliassime and showed us why he is the future of tennis. Tsitsipas remained composed during the tough moments, his serve was impeccable and his shot selection was superb. Tsitsipas is a real contender for the title here in Dubai, and if he plays like he did last week then I see him potentially going all the way.
Pablo Carreno Busta is a very experienced player, and in the last few years he has drastically improved his hard-court game. PBC knows how to play the big points and he has the experience to guide him during tough matches. PBC is great on clay, but he is also quite good on hard-courts. PBC will look at his draw and he will be very disappointed to be drawn to Tsitsipas as he knows it will be an extremely tough challenge. Will PBC utilise his experience to cause an upset?
This will be the second meeting between both players, with Tsitsipas having won their prior encounter in straight sets in 2018. Tsitsipas is the much better player, and he is extremely confident in the way he plays. PBC will look to utilise his experience, but Tsitsipas has much bigger wins already in his career. Expect Tsitsipas to dominate.
Stefanos Tsitsipas to win.
