Grigor Dimitrov vs. Stan Wawrinka - 2020 Acapulco Open Quarter-Final

It's the battle of the one-handed backhands in Acapulco as Stan Wawrinka meets Grigor Dimitrov in what will be a highly entertaining quarterfinal match. Who will shine through to the semis?

Stan the Man put on an absolute display against Pedro Martinez, beating the Spaniard 6-4/6-4. Wawrinka has been absolutely incredible on his first serve in Acapulco, winning over 90% of points behind it. Wawrinka has struggled behind his second serve because of the slowness of the courts which gives opponents time to attack it and win points. However, Stan is so experienced and he knows how to play the big points. Stan will look to make it to the end here in Acapulco as he knows he can beat everyone left in the tournament.

Grigor Dimitrov came through an absolute classic in Acapulco. Dimitrov looked sloppy in the first-set and it looked as if he would just hand his opponents the match, however, after losing that first set, Dimitrov came to life. Dimitrov absolutely dominated the second set, winning it 6-2 and in the third set, he saved multiple match points to eventually win it in the tiebreak. Dimitrov is looking to find the form which got him to the US Open semifinals last year and he is struggling to do so, but with his amazing game and heart, I wouldn't be shocked if we saw Dimitrov reach near his prime this year.

This will be the 12th meeting between both players, with Stan the Man leading the H2H 7-4. Their last two meetings went the way of Wawrinka last year and I see this one being the same. Dimitrov has an amazing game but when he comes against opponents who attack a lot like Wawrinka, he seems to struggle.

Stan Wawrinka to win.
