Stefanos Tsitsipas meets Jan-Lennard Struff in the quarterfinals fo the 2020 Dubai Open. Will Tsitsipas go far again in Dubai, or will Struff cause two upsets in a row?
Stefanos Tsitsipas has been absolutely superb in the last couple weeks. Tsitsipas successfully defended his title in Marseille, not dropping a set. Here in Dubai, Tsitsipas has won all 4 sets he's played and he was absolutely incredible against Alexander Bublik. Tsitsipas will want to win the title here in Dubai and he is more than capable of doing so. Tsitsipas' serve is very solid and he is able to play big points with a lot of composure. Tsitsipas will come out and be very attacking, which is his best style of play.
Jan-Lennard Struff caused a first-round upset beating Spaniard, Roberto Bautista Agut, in a match where he should not have won if it was down to talent. Struff then absolutely destroyed Nikoloz Basilashvili in 39 minutes! Struff beat Basilashvili 6-1/6-0 and he absolutely dominated on his first serve. Struff won 96% of his first serves and he did not allow Basilashvili to even get a chance to break back. Struff has a lot of experience and is able to challenge good players, will he be able to challenge a player of Tsitsipas' calibre?
Shockingly, Struff leads the H2H 2-1 between these two players. All of their prior encounters have been extremely tight, with 2 of them going to a third set. Struff will come into this match with confidence, but I think Tsitsipas is a much better player than he was when they previously met. Expect Tsitsipas to get revenge.
Stefanos Tsitsipas to win.
