Borna Coric vs. Grigor Dimitrov - 2020 Adria Tour
Saturday, June 20 2020
The second weekend of the 2020 Adria Tour is finally here and we have some exciting matches to come. First up, we have Grigor Dimitrov meeting Borna Coric. Dimitrov impressed last weekend, will he be able to impress again, or will Borna Coric get a win in his first match at the Adria Tour?
Grigor Dimitrov went 1-2 last weekend at the Adria Tour, but he was still very impressive. Dimitrov is one of the more talented players on the tour and when he is fully playing his best, he can beat anyone he wants to. Dimitrov's serve is powerful, precise, and beautiful, and his backhand is even better. Dimitrov showed us why he should not be underestimated in the later stages of 2019, and when he gets back into full form I am sure he will continue to improve his game. Dimitrov has the potential to achieve great things in tennis, he just needs to find consistency.
Borna Coric was one of the most exciting young players on the tour a few years back, but injury issues and lack of consistency have not allowed him to live up to the hype. Coric is a solid baseline rallier and he has gotten close to beating amazing players like Roger Federer. Coric is not to be underestimated and when he is on top of his game, he can challenge anyone. It has been a while since I have seen Coric play, so it will be interesting to see how good he is playing at the moment.
This is going to be the first meeting between both players. They were scheduled to play in the Round of 64 at the 2019 US Open but Borna Coric had to withdraw due to injury. I do not know exactly how fit Coric is and whether he has been able to practice at 100% in recent months. Borna Coric can definitely challenge Grigor Dimitrov, and this is going to be a tight match, however, due to Coric's lack of play in recent times, he will be rusty in his first match back. Dimitrov has a slight edge.
Grigor Dimitrov to win.
