Wolverhampton host AFC Bournemouth in their second match back from the break on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Both teams need a win, but who will come out on top in this exciting clash?
Wolves were superb in their first match back, defeating West Ham away from home 2-0. Wolves are a side that always gives it their all, and they showed that in their match against West Ham. The match started slowly with both teams trying to wear off the rust, however, in the second half Wolverhampton turned their engines on. Wolves took control of the game with nearly 60% possession, and they were able to score in the 70th and 73rd minutes to steal the victory. Wolves are 6th on the Premier League table and they are looking to book themselves a Champions League spot. They can definitely get themselves above Manchester United with a victory against Bournemouth on Wednesday.
AFC Bournemouth needs to find their form badly and quickly if they are to have any chance of remaining in the Premier League. In their first match back, Bournemouth lost 2-0 to Crystal Palace in what was a very disappointing defeat. Bournemouth looked in control of the game, maintaining most of the possession, taking many chances on goal. However, Crystal Palace came in clutch, scoring two goals from two shots on target. Bournemouth did not deserve to lose that game and they are in desperate need of points to get them out of 18th place in the Premier League.
The reverse fixture between these two sides went the way of Wolves, with a 2-1 victory, and unfortunately for Bournemouth, I don't see a change in the outcome. Bournemouth showed us that even if they control possession, they cannot win. Bournemouth was so exciting the last two seasons in the Premier League, but they just have not been good this year. Wolves win this match no doubt, it's just how risky you want to take the goal differential. In my opinion, this is going to be a 2-0 or 3-1 victory. Therefore taking Wolves at 1.5 at (+350) is a sure bet for me.
