Feliciano Lopez vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas - Ultimate Tennis Showdown
Saturday, June 27 2020
The battle of two artists is here as Feliciano Lopez takes on Stefanos Tsitsipas. Which of these extremely talented players will take this match by the hands and show us an incredible performance?
Stefanos Tsitsipas will be somewhat disappointed with his loss to Dominic Thiem last Sunday, losing 3-1 in the match. Tsitsipas could have gotten the match to a Sudden Death situation but he just did not seem as ruthless as he should have. Stefanos Tsitsipas is better than any player here in my opinion, and I think Tsitsipas will be a Grand Slam champion very soon. Tsitsipas is tall, has a massive serve, and has a superb one-handed backhand. When he is on top of his game, it is hard to stop the Greek. Tsitsipas will want to bounce back here and show everyone how good he really is after that loss to Dominic Thiem.
Feliciano Lopez had a very good weekend last week, going 1-1, beating Matteo Berrettini, and losing to David Goffin. Lopez showed us that age is just a number and he can still play competitive tennis with the best in the world. Lopez's real threat to any opponent is his left-handed play style. Lopez's left-handed serve and forehand allow him to move players around in ways that make them extremely uncomfortable. This allows the Spaniard to take control of rallies, and sometimes the match. Lopez knows this is going to be a tough match for him, but he has already beaten the likes of Matteo Berrettini here, and he will know he can trouble Tsitsipas.
This is going to be the first meeting between both players, and it is going to be a battle of Generations. Feliciano Lopez is of course the much more experienced player and he can use that to his advantage, however, Stefanos Tsitsipas is the better player and is going to have a much better career than Lopez has had in the last 23 years. Tsitsipas is the best in my opinion outside of the Big 3, and he will bounce back here in an amazing fashion.
Stefanos Tsitsipas to win.
