Novak Djokovic vs. Pablo Carreno Busta 9/6/20 US Open Tennis Pick, Odds, and Prediction

2020-09-06 00:00:00 EDT

Novak Djokovic meets Pablo Carreno Busta in the fourth round of the 2020 US Open. Will Djokovic go 27-0 in 2020 or will Carreno Busta provide us all with an incredibly shocking upset?

Novak Djokovic has been on top of his game here at the US Open, only losing one set in his three prior matches. Djokovic is determined to win here and he knows that if he keeps playing at the current level he is playing at, he will do just that. With the likes of Tsitsipas out of the tournament, he has less strong competition to face in the near future and he will be confident in his ability to pick up his 18th Gland Slam title. Djokovic cruised past Jan Lennard Struff by beating the big serving German in straight sets for two weeks in a row. Djokovic now faces Pablo Carreno Busta and if he plays like he has recently, this won’t even be a contest.

Pablo Carreno Busta has had an incredibly solid US Open campaign. Carreno Busta came through an incredibly tight first round match, eventually winning in 5 sets, and has cruised in his last two matches winning in straight sets. Carreno Busta has a very solid game and has a lot of experience, but he will know he has his hands full against Novak Djokovic. If this was clay, he would be more confident in his ability to get something out of this match, but these are hard courts. Carreno Busta will need to be on top of his game if he is to get anything out of this match.

This will be the fourth meeting between both players, with Novak Djokovic leading the head to head 3-0. This is going to be one-way traffic and it is unfortunate because Pablo Carreno Busta is a solid player. Novak Djokovic is just too good here and has shown us he is ready to win his 18th major this year. I expect Djokovic to come out and dominate from the get go. Expect Djokovic to win this match in straight sets and book his spot to the quarter finals.
