Filip Krajinovic meets Felix Auger-Aliassime in the first round of the 2020 Rome Masters on Monday, September 14th 2020. Will FAA bounce back after a terrible loss to Thiem in the US Open or will Filip Krajinovic continue to dominate many opponents as he has done over the last few weeks.

Felix Auger-Aliassime had a great US Open, reaching the fourth round and playing some of the best tennis of his life. FAA just seemed on top of his game in New York, and many had him to beat Dominic Thiem in their fourth round match. However, their fourth round match came, and Thiem absolutely dominated winning in straight sets. FAA knows that Thiem is the more experienced and better player and he will not feel too dissappointed by that loss, but he will rather see this as a building bloc for him to grow as a player. FAA will now come into the Rome Masters looking to bounce back.

Filip Krajinovic had not as good of a week at the US Open as FAA did, but that week and the week prior he played some amazing tennis. One of his amazing matches was against the US Open Champion himself, Dominic Thiem, in the first round of the Cincinatti Masters. Krajinovic beat Thiem in straight sets and did not look in any trouble at any time. Krajinovic has continued to improve this year and last year and he will definitely be looking to go far here in Rome.

This is going to be the second meeting between these two players, with Filip Krajinovic leading the head to head 1-0. Krajinovic in my opinion will win this match, because of his composure in the tough moments and his experience. FAA is not the biggest fan of the clay and plays his best tennis on hard-courts, while Filip Krajinovic has a lot of experience on these courts. I think it might be a tight match, but Krajinovic should be in control here and cause FAA some problems which will allow him to get over the line and into the second round in Rome.
