Fifth seeded Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece takes on Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria in a very intriguing fourth round encounter at the 2020 French Open. The match will be played on Monday Otober 5th and is sure to be an entertaining one.
Stefanos Tsitsipas comes into this match in good form, having reached the Hamburg final the week before. Other than having to come back from two sets to love down against Jaume Munar he has played some solid tennis. He is one of the most promising players in the world and he will like his chances to go on a deep run in this tournament. He will be looking to use his dynamic game to get the better of Dimitrov and overpower him. If he can stay focused (and that is a big if) he will be in with a strong chance of winning this match. He is prone to losing concentration, as evidenced in his US Open loss to Borna Coric which is no doubt still on his mind. A good showing here in Paris will go a long way in helping him mentally overcome that loss.
Grigor Dimitrov has played some great tennis this week. Surprisingly, he has never been past the fourth round here at Roland Garros, and he will be looking to change that with a win over the young prodigy. He has looked very composed and confident throughout his first three rounds. He will be looking to call on his wealth of experience to get him through this match. He had some very good wins in Rome and has looked superb here in Paris so far, having a good winners to errors ratio and dominating opponents from both wings.
This match is a clash between youth and experience. Two of the best single handed backhands in the game face off in what is sure to be a very exciting encounter. Both players are very much confidence based and whoever gets off to the best start and can keep the errors down will likely win the match. I expect this to be a very physical match which could very well go the distance. It could go either way but I predict that the Greek star will get the win in the end. Stefanos Tsitsipas to win what could be the match of the tournament so far.
