Australian Open Qualifying : Viktor Troicki vs Cedrik-Marcel Stebe 1/13/2021 Tennis Prediction

Cedrik-Marcel Stebe of Germany faces Serbian Viktor Troicki in the third and final Qualifying Round of the 2021 Australian Open in Doha, Qatar. The match will take place on Wednesday January 13th at approximately 3:30am EST. The German leads the head to head by one match to zero. Will be extend that streak? Or will Troicki get the win and advance to the Main Draw. 

Cedrik-Marcel Stebe is currently ranked #121 and has advanced to the Third Round as a result of wins over Rinky Hijikata of Australia and Thomas Fabbiano. He was down and our in the First Round against Fabbiano, but was able to fight back from the brink to win 7-6 in the third set tiebreaker. He has a strong lefty serve and solid groundstrokes and will be banking to get lots of free points from the serve to have a chance of advancing here. 

Viktor Troicki is currently ranked #202 but has been ranked as high as number 12 in the world. He is an extremely talented player who has seen his form and ranking decline severely over the past few years. Still a dangerous competitor he will be very confident at getting the win here and qualifying for the Main Draw. Like his opponent, he had a three set win in the First Round (over Juri Rodionov) and then a relatively simple victory over American Ulises Blanch in the Second. He has a powerful game, and will be very hard to beat here if he can keep his focus throughout.
