Kei Nishikori meets Lloyd Harris in the quarter finals of the 2021 Dubai Open on Thursday, March 18th 2021.
Will Lloyd Harris be able to make his way to the semi finals here in Dubai, or will Kei Nishikori continue to show us his incredible tennis ability as he edges closer to his best level.
Kei Nishikori put on an incredible performance in the third round, beating the always consistent Aljaz Bedene in straight sets 6-4/6-4. Nishikori is continuously improving, and this is great to see him being successful in trying to get back to his best game. Nishikori was able to dictate most points from the baseline, and he was very solid in his own service games. Nishikori is one of the most talented and experienced players on the ATP Tour and he will be feeling confident in his ability to make the Final here in Dubai in this side of the draw.
Lloyd Harris put on a great performance in the third round, knocking out the experienced 14th seed Filip Krajinovic in straight sets 7-6/6-4. Harris is on a roll right now and he will be feeling very confident coming into this quarter final encounter. Harris has a great feel for these courts and his serve is able to move quickly and bounce extremely high here. Harris has been able to back his amazing victory over Dominic Thiem, but will he be able to knock out another experienced player in Nishikori?
This is going to be the first meeting between both players, and it is going to be a very exciting encounter here in Dubai. Both players have played some great tennis this week, and they both deserve to be in this spot. However, Kei Nishikori has just been on another level. The 2016 Olympic Bronze medalist and the US Open Finalist will be very determined to show everyone that he is still to be feared even if he was out of the game for a year due to injury. Kei will come out here and book himself a spot in the semi finals in my opinion.
