Taylor Fritz cruised through his first match here in the second round, beating Andrej Martin in straight sets 6-2/7-6. Fritz got used to the conditions quite quickly and I am sure he will be feeling confident in his ability to get the job done here in Sardegna and make his way through to the semi finals. Fritz is a great all-court player and I am sure that if he continues to play at this high level, and improves on a day-to-day basis, he will have a very strong 2021 season, but he will have to ensure he focuses on the match ahead here.

This is going to be the second meeting between both players, with Aljaz Bedene leading the head to head 1-0. Although Bedene won their only prior encounter, I still see Taylor Fritz coming out on top here and making his way to the semi finals. Taylor Fritz is continuously improving and showing everyone that he should be considered the best American player out there.
