Stuttgart Open: Sam Querrey vs. Dominic Stricker 6/11/21 Tennis Prediction

Sam Querrey meets Dominic Stricker (WC) in the quarter finals of the 2021 Stuttgart Open on Friday, June 11th 2021.

Will Dominic Stricker, the wildcard, continue to cause upsets as he looks to show everyone that he is not just a Challenger Tour player, or will Sam Querrey put the youngster in his place by using all of his experience to get the win under his belt here in Stuttgart?

Dominic Stricker beat the very in form and tough to beat Hubert Hurkacz in the second round in straight sets 7-6/7-6. Stricker is not holding back in his matches in Stuttgart, giving it his all as he knows he has nothing to lose and everything to prove. Dominic is still unknown, but he will definitely be known soon if he continues to cause upsets like this against Top 20 opponents. Dominci will now meet another experienced opponent and hard hitter in Sam Querrey and he will definitely want to cause another upset here.

Sam Querrey has not had a real challenge here in Stuttgart yet, having to beat James Duckworth in the second round in 2 sets 6-4/7-6. Sam is a very hard player to beat when his serve is firing, and I am sure that now that the grass court season is here, he will be aiming to get some big wins under his belt before the ATP 500 and Wimbledon tournaments come around. However, he knows that if he is not at his best, Dominic Stricker will try and take advantage of anything that is thrown his way as he did against Hurkacz.

This is going to be the 1st meeting between both players, and I expect for this to be a tight match as Sam Querrey although experienced and powerful, has not had a great 2021 season. I expect for Sam to still come out on top here as he will be able to get his best game out on grass where his serve bounces better, and his forehand moves through the court much faster. Stricker might get a set under his belt because he will still be in form and have nothing to lose, but he will lose to a much more experienced opponent at the end.
