Will Mikael Ymer come out here and improve drastically from his first round match as he aims to get a huge win under his belt, or will Felix Auger-Aliassime show us that his game is really solid on grass as we have seen all grass court season?

Mikael Ymer came through an extremely tight 5-set match against the experienced and beloved Jo-Wilfred Tsonga, beating him 7-5/6-7/5-7/6-4/6-3. Mikael Ymer knows that he beat a big name but he should also know that he was way beyond his prime. Mikael still needs to work a lot behind the scenes to ensure he can raise his playing level coming into the second round now that he meets Felix Auger-Aliassime who will not let him get anything easily, especially in the current form that he has been playing in this grass court season.

Felix Auger-Aliassime was dominant in his first round match against Thiago Monteiro, beating him in 3 sets 6-3/6-3/6-3. When they last met, FAA came through 4 tiebreak sets and it was extremely tight, but this time he was so dominant from the start. Felix is hoping to continue improving his level, especially on grass where he has shown he is one of the most in form this season, but he needs to ensure he does not take any opponent for granted as he does sometimes. FAA will need to be dominant again as in tight matches he can lose concentration sometimes.

This is going to be the 1^st meeting between both players, and unfortunately for Mikael Ymer, I don’t see him getting anything going in this match. Mikael Ymer needs to find some more form and consistency in his game if he wants to become a mainstay on the ATP Tour, rather than a Challenger Tour guy, but he won’t find any consistency against someone as strong as FAA on grass this year. FAA has been dominant over the last 2 weeks and he will not let someone who played 5 sets against Tsonga dictate play here.
