Will we see Taylor Fritz pulling one of the biggest wins of his career at a Grand Slam as he aims to beat Zverev twice in a row, or will Alexander Zverev continue to win in 3 sets which is becoming business as usual for him at Grand Slams in early rounds?

Taylor Fritz had to fend off a potential comeback win by his compatriot, Steve Johnson, in the second round, winning in 5 sets 6-4/7-6/4-6/6-7/6-4. Taylor Fritz let his guard down once he was clearly winning the match and this gave Johnson enough confidence in the third and fourth set to go for everything and it paid off. However, in the 5^th set, Fritz was able to regain his composure and get his game in check. Fritz knows he was strong enough to win and fend off the comeback from Steve, however, he now has an even tougher challenge from Zverev coming up.

Alexander Zverev has not had any issues here at Wimbledon, not losing a set yet, and beating Tennys Sandgren in the second round in 3 sets 7-5/6-2/6-3. Zverev will be very happy with his performances because he knows that he is finally finding the necessary form to be in contention for these titles. Zverev will not want to lose any of this momentum going forward and I expect for him to continue coming out here ready to give it his best and not waste any time on court which could be used to prepare for tougher matches.

This is going to be the 4^th meeting between both players, with Alexander Zverev having won 2 of their 3 encounters. I would have expected for this to be an extremely tight match here but with Taylor not being able to get an easy win under his belt once he was winning 2-0, I see Zverev taking a lot of confidence from that. Alexander Zverev will come out here and get the early lead and he will not let go. Taylor might steal a set, but that’s all I see the American getting from this match.
