Top seeded Serbian Novak Djokovic will face seventh seed Matteo Berrettini in the Final of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. The match is scheduled to be played on Sunday July 11th, 2021.

An explosive Final is expected here at Wimbledon 2021 as world number one Novak Djokovic will face Matteo Berrettini. The Serbian star is seeking to equal the Grand Slam singles record, which is currently shared by Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Djokovic was the heavy favorite leading up to this event and has backed that tag up well here, dominating the field en route to a 7th Wimbledon Final. Here he will face Matteo Berrettini, who is in his first Grand Slam Final. Can the Italian cause the upset and win a maiden Grand Slam title here at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships?

Novak Djokovic is the world number one and is a true tennis legend. The Serb holds many tennis records, most notably the most weeks at #1, but is chasing history here, as he chases a astounding 20th Grand Slam title. He has won five titles here at the All-England Club, and has been dominant so far here at Wimbledon, only losing one set so far. He was severely tested in the Semi-Final by Denis Shapovalov, and was lucky to escape with the straight sets win. While he did not play his best, he used his trademark resilience to recover from a set down in each of the first two sets, and was able to withstand the barrage of power shots that were sent his way. He enters this Final as the big favorite, but will be wary of the Italian’s firepower, and renewed mental strength. If he is not at his best here then things could be interesting, but we all know that Djokovic saves his best for moments like these.

Matteo Berrettini is ranked #9 in the world and is the seventh seed here at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships. Like his opponent Novak Djokovic, he has been very impressive so far at this event, and has turned heads with his controlled aggression. The Italian can be quite erratic at times, but really has been a model of focus and consistency here at Wimbledon and fully deserves to be here in the Final. He was dominating the Semi-Final against Hubert Hurkacz 6-3, 6-0 when a slight dip in focus caused him to drop the third set, but he recovered well to win the fourth and reach his first ever Grand Slam Final. Despite being the underdog here against Novak Djokovic, he will be backing himself here as he knows that he has the tools to pull off the unlikely win.

This will certainly be a very entertaining match, and spectacular tennis is expected here in the Wimbledon Final. Matteo Berrettini has been outstanding here over the past two weeks and will have won many fans by his play, however it is unlikely that he will be able to get the win here. He has all the tools to do so, and his big serve and groundstrokes are perfectly suited for this surface. However, this is Novak Djokovic that we are talking about, and his record speaks for itself. The Serbian always seems to will himself to win, especially in these big matches, and with so much on the line it is extremely unlikely that he will lose here. Berrettini can play lights out and make it very interesting, but this is Djokovic’s title to lose, and he will win here, becoming the 2021 Wimbledon Champion.
