Arthur Rinderknech of France will face German Yannick Hanfmann in the Quarter-Finals of the 2021 Nordea Open. The match is scheduled to be played on Friday July 12th, 2021 at 5:00am EST.

A pair of unseeded players will square off for the chance to play in the Semi-Finals here at the 2021 Nordea Open. Arthur Rinderknech and Yannick Hanfmann will do battle in what is expected to be a very keenly contested match. Both men have played well so far here in Bastad, and have upset higher rated opponents. Who will go one step further and reach their first ATP Semi-Final?

Arthur Rinderknech is currently ranked #105 in the world rankings and came through the Qualifying Rounds here at the 2021 Nordea Open. He is very inexperienced at this level having played most of his tennis on the Challenger Tour, but he announced himself on the ATP Tour with a strong showing in Lyon earlier this year, upsetting Jannik Sinner en route to the Quarter-Finals. Rinderknech was outstanding in the Qualifying Rounds here in Bastad, advancing without dropping a set, and has backed that up with strong wins over Pedro Sousa and John Millman to reach this stage. The win over Millman was particularly impressive, and he will be full of confidence here ahead of his match against Yannick Hanfmann.

Like Arthur Rinderknech, Yannick Hanfmann is unseeded at the Nordea Open and has backed that up by reaching the Quarter-Finals. He has been on a very poor streak lately, and will have entered this event hoping for a strong performance. However, not even he would have expected to heave reached the Quarter-Finals, especially without droppng a set. Impressive wins over Thiago Monteiro and seventh seeded Jiri Vesely have brought him to this stage, and he certainly deserves to be here in the Quarters. He enters this match as the slight betting underdog but this really is evenly matched.

This will be the second time that the two players have faced each other, with Arthur Rinderknech winning in straight sets just a few weeks ago in Halle. Yannick Hanfmann is a lot better on grass however, and I expect him to put in a much improved performance. However, I am still backing Arthur Rinderknech to get the win here. He is in fantastic form, and has slightly more firepower than his opponent here. It really can go either way and it should be a very close battle, but give me Rinderknech to advance to the Semis here at the 2021 Nordea Open.
