Eleventh seeded John Millman will face Wild Card entrant Jenson Brooksby in the Quarter-Finals of the 2021 Citi Open. The match is scheduled to be played on Friday August 6th, 2021 at approximately 2:00pm EST.

John Millman and Benson Jrooksby have been surprise stories so far here at the Citi Open in Washington, with neither man expected to reach this far. The Aussie veteran will be seeking to win his first title of the year and Brooksby will be doing the same. This is a classic match of youth vs experience, who will get the win here and advance to the Semi-Finals?

John Millman is the eleventh seed here at the Citi Open and is the world number 43. The Australian is one of the most hardworking and fittest players on the tour, and has been known to be a gritty competitor for many years. Millman reached the Quarter-Finals with a very tough two set win over Reilly Opelka, where he returned very well, not allowing his opponent a chance to get back into the match after some early breaks. While he has not been having a great year by his standards, he is very experienced and will be very difficult to beat here, especially now that he has gotten in a rhythm and has some of his confidence back.

Jenson Brooksby has been one of the surprise stories this year on the ATP Tour, and is among the match win leaders out of the NextGen players. He has won three Challenger Tour titles so far this year, and stunned the tennis world where he reached the Newport Open Final as a Qualifier, losing to Kevin Anderson. I expect the Aussie to win a very tight match here, one that really can go either way. On paper Millman should be a clear victor, but he has largely struggled while Brooksby is in the middle of a breakout season. Despite this, experience will be crucial here, and I expect the Aussie to hold his nerve in the key moments and book his spot in the Semis here at the 2021 Citi Open in Washington.
