Both men have been having very successful seasons and play a similar aggressive baseline game. Stefanos Tsitsipas is ranked at a career-high #3 in the world rankings and is the second seed here at the 2021 Cincinnati Open since Novak Djokovic did not enter. The Greek superstar is having a breakout year on the ATP Tour, winning his first Masters-1000 title in Monte-Carlo and reaching his first Grand Slam Final at the French Open. He has proven that he belongs in the top 5 and is ready to compete for the larger Grand Slam titles. Along with Daniil Medvedev he is the top contender to win the trophy here in Cincinnati, and will have one eye focused on the US Open which starts in a few weeks. He is the favorite here against Sebastian Korda but will have to remain focused as the American is certainly capable of some serious tennis.

Sebastian Korda is ranked 45 in the ATP world rankings and is unseeded here at the 2021 Cincinnati Open. The young American has announced himself on the world stage this season by reaching his first ATP Final in Delray Beach and then going a step further and winning the title in Parma. He started well here with a comprehensive win over Laslo Djere, in a match that he controlled with his serve and groundstrokes. Despite being the underdog here, Korda is capable of hitting through his opponent and has a big game, so he does have a small chance here. If he plays to the best of his abilities and the Greek star has an off day then things could get very interesting.

This will be the first time that the two players are playing each other, and I am expecting a very exciting match with lots of flashy shot making. Despite Sebastian Korda impressing this year, I don’t think that he has much of a chance here. Stefanos Tsitsipas is simply a level above him, and is better in every single area. Korda is capable of making this match interesting but it is very unlikely that he can sustain the level that is needed to come away with victory. I expect Tsitsipas to dominate this match, advancing to the Round of 16 here at the 2021 Cincinnati Open.
