Young sensation Felix Auger-Aliassime will face one of the most consistent performers on the ATP Tour this season Cameron Norrie in the Round of 16 at the Erste Open. Norrie has just claimed his first ever Masters-1000 title and will be overflowing with confidence, but he has a tough matchup here against the Canadian, who is capable of beating the world’s best on a good day. Can FAA defeat the in-form Norrie? Or will the Brit continue his dream season and reach yet another Quarter-Final?

Felix Auger-Aliassime is the sixth seed here at the Erste Open in Vienna and is an extremely talented player, who is very experienced despite his young age. The Canadian has long been tipped for superstardom, but even though he has had a very successful career so far, he has not quite reached the heights that many thought he would. He has been in great form recently however, reaching his first ever Grand Slam Semi-Final at the US Open and started well here so far, cruising past Ricardas Berankis in the First Round. His explosive game and big serve are very dangerous on this quick surface, and he will like his chances here against Cameron Norrie, who is in career-best form.

Cameron Norrie is in the form of his life, and recently claimed his first ever Masters-1000 title in Indian Wells. In the process, he also passed Dan Evans to become the British number one. The lefty has a very consistent and solid game without a major weapon, and he may find it difficult on this quick surface. However, in the type of form that he has been in this season it is difficult to count him out, and he has a very good chance of getting the win here against Felix Auger-Aliassime. The Canadian’s game is better suited for this surface and he will be a difficult opponent, but Norrie has caused many upsets in his breakout season and will be backing himself here.

I think this will be an extremely close match between two players with varying game styles. Both men have a good chance of winning this, and it will come down to who plays best on the day. After considering everything, we are going with FAA to get the win. He can be very erratic, but his huge serve and forehand will be very difficult for Norrie to contend with and I don’t see him winning this on a surface that he isn’t truly comfortable on. Norrie is a fighter and will keep it close, but expect FAA to win and advance to the Quarter-Finals here at the Erste Open.
