It will be a blockbuster clash here in the Final of the 2022 Los Cabos Open as world number one Daniil Medvedev does battle with defending champion Cameron Norrie. Both men have looked very good here so far, and will be backing themselves to win as they gear up for the US Open. Medvedev is the obvious favorite here, but Norrie is very comfortable on these courts and is no slouch himself. Who will be crowned the champion?

Daniil Medvedev is the top seed here at the Los Cabos Open and has stamped his authority on the rest of the field this week. He is yet to drop a set so far, defeating Hijikata, Berankis and then Kecmanovic all in straight sets. After a short break from the Tour he is looking good as he prepares to defend his US Open title, and a first title win in 2022 will do his confidence a world of good. He is one of the best (if not the best) hard court player in the world, and his elite all-around game really makes him a force to be reckoned with. Medvedev starts as the heavy favorite against defending champion Cameron Norrie but will have to be careful, as his opponent will take full advantage if he is not at his best.

Cameron Norrie is the third seed here at the Los Cabos Open and is ranked 12th on the ATP Tour. The defending champion has also looked solid here this week, impressively edging out third seeded Felix Auger-Aliassime in three sets in a huge battle. This will be his fourth Final of 2022 and he is seeking his third title, and while he is a very solid player on this surface he has not looked quite as convincing as his opponent Daniil Medvedev. His baseline game is very solid, but he lacks the one true weapon that is usually needed to defeat the Russian. He is likely to struggle to hit through Medvedev, and that will make things very difficult for him.

This should be a pretty competitive match, but I feel confident in saying that Daniil Medvedev will win and become the Los Cabos Open champion. He looks focused and is striking the ball well. Cameron Norrie is a fighter with a great game, but without the firepower to dominate Medvedev during the rallies he will really struggle. It will be a complicated match, but i’m backing Medvedev to win in two competitive sets.
