Cameron Norrie is the 9th seed here at the Western and Southern Open and is ranked 11th on the ATP Tour. The British number one had to overcome a stiff challenge from Holger Rune in the First Round, winning 7-6, 4-6, 6-4 in a match that lasted almost three hours. It was a very up and down match with Norrie losing his serve four times, but also breaking four times. It is likely that he will not get away with being so wasteful on serve against Andy Murray, who certainly will make him pay with his extensive experience. He is the favorite for this match given his strong recent form but should be wary of the former world number one.

Andy Murray also had a very difficult opener here at the Western and Southern Open, defeating Stan Wawrinka 7-6, 5-7, 7-5, spending almost three hours on court like his opponent Cameron Norrie. He was actually down a break in the third set and had to use every ounce of his experience to get the hard fought victory. Assuming that fatigue isn’t a factor, Murray will have to be much better against Norrie, with his currently opponent being a much better player than Wawrinka at this stage in their careers. Murray will have to try to be aggressive and take charge of the match here, as it is unlikely that he will be able to go toe to toe with Norrie in consistency.

This is an interesting match between between current and former British number ones. Andy Murray has the big edge in experience, but Cam Norrie has been the much better player over the past few seasons, especially on this surface. It is difficult to look past Norrie here, especially since he has recently won a Masters-1000 title on this surface, and he is likely to have dealt with the fatigue from the previous round much better. It will be a tussle, but Norrie will win here, moving on to the Round of 16 at the Western and Southern Open.
