Frances Tiafoe will meet in the Quarter-Finals of the 2022 Tokyo Open. The match will be played on Friday October 7th, 2022.

Frances Tiafoe is the fourth seed here at the Tokyo Open and is ranked 19th in the world. The American #2 has continued his excellent form from the US Open into this week and has reached yet another ATP Quarter-Final this year. He has a chance to reach his fourth Semi-Final with a win over Miomir Kecmanovic, but will have to be very wary as his opponent is a dangerous player across all surfaces. After a First Round bye, Tiafoe brushed aside the challenge from Bernabe Zapata Miralles in two sets, 6-1, 7-6. He was a bit wasteful in the second set and did not serve as well as the first, two things that he will have to improve ahead of the clash with Kecmanovic.

Miomir Kecmanovic is unseeded here at the Tokyo Open and is ranked 33rd on the ATP Tour. The Serbian has been having a solid yet unspectacular year in 2022 and will be hoping to end the season with a bang. Two solid wins over Yoshihito Nishioka and Dan Evans show just how dangerous of an opponent he will be, but Frances Tiafoe is playing on another level at the moment and will pose an even bigger threat. His fighting spirit was on full display as he saved seven match points against Evans, and he will be hoping for a similar result against the US Open Semi-Finalist.

This should be a close contest, but it’s hard to back anyone other than Frances Tiafoe here. Miomir Kecmanovic has had some big wins in his career and he has also had his share of disappointing losses. Tiafoe has taken his game to a whole new level with that US Open result, and it will take a huge effort from the Serbian to get a result here. I’m very confident in Tiafoe winning the match, not 100% sure about the straight sets market but if you feel like taking a risk, it’s not a bad one to take.
