His game is reliant on his powerful groundstrokes and dynamic movement, and if he isn’t at full strength, Ben Shelton is good enough to take full advantage.

Ben Shelton is unseeded here at the 2023 Acapulco Open and is ranked 42nd in the world rankings. The young American stunned the world by reaching the Quarter-Finals at the Australian Open, an amazing performance by the teenager. However, he failed to sustain that momentum and lost in the First Round at the Delray Beach Open, so will be looking to redeem himself here. Unfortunately he has been handed a tough draw in the form of Holger Rune, and will be in for a battle here.

This is sure to be a ferocious match between two of the most talented young players on the ATP Tour today. Both men are capable of winning here and play an exciting brand of tennis, but it is difficult to overlook the massive advantage in experience that Holger Rune has at this level. Despite his young age, he has played many more matches at this level than Ben Shelton and I expect that to be the difference here. Back Rune with some confidence to move on here, provided that he has fully recovered from his injury.
