Adrian Mannarino vs Mikael Ymer 9/20/22 Moselle Open Tennis Picks, Predictions, Odds

Adrian Mannarino will meet Mikael Ymer in the First Round of the 2022 Moselle Open in Metz, France. The match will be played on Tuesday September 20th, 2022.

Adrian Mannarino is the 8th seed here at the Moselle Open and is ranked 47th on the ATP Tour. The Frenchman has had some success this season, recently winning the title in Winston-Salem, but his inconsistent results have made him very hard to trust. He tends to do very well on grass and indoor hard courts, so he will be relishing playing in Metz, in his home country. He is very solid all around without a major weapon, and while his lack of a big first serve does make it hard to win free points on this surface, he makes up for it by taking the ball extremely early and removing time from the opponent. Mikael Ymer is a very talented opponent, but Mannarino certainly will start as the favorite here given his experience in general, and on the surface.

Mikael Ymer is unseeded here at the Moselle Open and is ranked 100th in the world. The youngster was touted as a promising player a few years ago but has failed to reach the heights that many expected. However, he has still had a solid career thus far, but like his opponent Adrian Mannarino can be terribly inconsistent at times. This year has had a lot of early round exits but he has had a few notable results, mainly his shocking run to the Washington Semi-Finals where he lost to eventual champion Nick Kyrgios. He is capable of winning this match but I question his consistency and his ability to stick with Mannarino during rallies, and I think he will have a tough outing here.

On any other surface other than grass or indoor hard I would give Mikael Ymer a fighting chance, but on these indoor courts in Metz I expect Mannarino to win. He brings his best tennis to this surface, and coupled with the fact that he is playing at home I think he should cruise here. He can be difficult to trust at times but so can Ymer, and I think the Frenchman will frustrate the young Swede with his style of play, winning in straight sets here at the Moselle Open.
