Antwerp Open: Daniel Evans vs. Ugo Humbert 10/24/20 Tennis Prediction

It is going to be a very interesting battle as Ugo Humbert meets Daniel Evans in the semifinals of the 2020 Antwerp Open on Saturday, October 24th 2020. Will the Frenchman continue to outperform his opponents here in Antwerp, or will the No.1 Brit stop the Frenchman?

Daniel Evans came through an extremely tough encounter in the quarterfinals against Karen Khachanov, coming back from a set down and multiple set points down in the second set to win the match in the 3rd set. Evans was able to maintain his composure during the tight moments and the controversial ones, unlike Khachanov who was not concentrated and you could clearly see lost his focus and played sloppily in that third set. Evans will now know he will face an even tougher opponent in Ugo Humbert and he will need to ensure he is both mentally and physically ready if he wants to stand a chance to make it to the Final.

Ugo Humbert has been superb all tournament, beating only losing one set in 3 matches. Humbert won his quarterfinal encounter against Lloyd Harris with relative ease and in my opinion, the Frenchman is the favourite alongside Alex De Minaur to win the tournament. If Ugo Humbert is able to serve as strongly as he has, move as well as he has, and move his opponents to their weaker side as he is a lefty, he should cruise through this match and many future tournaments. Humbert is going to be the future of tennis, and he is showing this to us now.

This is going to be the first meeting between both players and in my opinion it is going to go the way of the young Frenchman. Humbert has played some extremely solid tennis in these last two weeks, both in St. Petersburg and in Antwerp. I expect Humbert to come out here determined and ready to make another final this year. Evans might be tired after that tight encounter against Khachanov and this will only play into Humbert’s hands who should book his spot into the Final on Sunday.
