Antwerp Open: Milos Raonic vs. Cameron Norrie 10/22/20 Tennis Prediction

Milos Raonic meets Cameron Norrie in the second round of the 2020 Antwerp Open on Thursday, October 22nd 2020. Will Raonic power through as he did in his first round encounter, or will Cameron Norrie be able to back up that performance against Emil Ruusuvuori?

Cameron Norrie was able to beat the young up and comer Emil Ruusuvuori in the first round beating him in straight sets 6-3/7-6. Norrie was very solid in that first set, not letting his opponent win anything easily and fighting for every point. However, in the second set, Norrie became a bit more passive and allowed Ruusuvuori to come back into the match somewhat. The Brit managed to ensure he did not lose the set when he increased his level back up in the tiebreak, however, he needs to ensure this does not happen in the second round match against Milos Raonic as it will not go his away again.

Milos Raonic was incredibly solid in his first round match against Aljaz Bedene beating him 6-3/7-6. Raonic was in complete control of that first set and even in the second he was able to maintain his composure to save 2 set points and win the tiebreak with ease. Raonic knows he is probably the favourite to win the title here in Antwerp and he will definitely want to get all the points possible under his belt before next week and before the Paris Masters next month. Raonic has been playing extremely well in the last few weeks and I am sure this level will continue.

This is going to be the second meeting between these two players, with Milos Raonic leading the head to head 1-0. This is going to be a tight encounter for sure as Norrie can bring the fight to good players, especially being a lefty. However, it is hard for me to see any other result other than a Raonic victory here. Milos Raonic has been playing solidly these last couple of weeks and I am sure he wants to win the title here. I expect Raonic to give it his all and book his spot in the quarterfinals.
