ATP Finals: Novak Djokovic vs. Alexander Zverev 11/20/21 Tennis Prediction

Novak Djokovic of Serbia will play German Alexander Zverev in the Semi-Finals of the 2021 ATP Finals in Turin, Italy. The match will be played on Saturday November 20th, 2021.

A huge blockbuster match is expected as two of the best players in the world battle each other for a spot in Sunday’s Final of the 2021 ATP Finals. Novak Djokovic is the world number one and Zverev ranked number four, and are both coming off very impressive seasons. Djokovic is aiming to finish the year on a high and equal Roger Federer’s record for the most year-end titles. Can Zverev cause the upset?

Novak Djokovic is the world number one and is the top seed here at the 2021 ATP Finals. The Serbian Superstar is seeking to end his year with a bang as he prepares to break the Grand Slam record in 2022. He has cruised his way through this event so far, and is at his dominant best. His all-around game is very well suited to this surface, and even the quicker conditions don’t disrupt his rhythm too much. Zverev will have to attempt to hit through Djokovic which is easier said than done with his elite defense, and he is the favorite heading into this match, and as always will be backing himself to win here.

Alexander Zverev is ranked number four in the world and has had an outstanding season so far in 2021, winning two Masters-1000 titles. As is usual for the German, he has had an extremely consistent season, but will be very disappointed that he didn’t break through and win a Grand Slam like his counterpart Daniil Medvedev. He certainly has the game to be able to do so, it is just the mental side of the game that can let him down at times. He has had some success here at this event in the past being a former champion, and while he does not have the greatest head to head against Djokovic, he beat him at the Olympics and will be hoping for a repeat performance.

This is the 11th time that the two players have met and I am expecting a classic. Three sets is almost a certainty, and it will be a treat to watch this game with both men at the top of their games and gunning for the title. They are very evenly matched, with Zverev having more firepower but the Serbian being more consistent and better at defense. At the end of it, I expect Djokovic to come out on top, with his mental fortitude being the difference here. He is like a machine in high-pressure situations, and I expect there to be many in this match. It will be very close, but Novak will win a thriller here, and move on to tomorrow’s Final.
