Jan-Lennard Struff vs Daniel Elahi Galan

Experienced but not-so-much in form, Jan-Lennard Struff, meets the underrated Colombian, Daniel Elahi Galan, in the first round of the BNP Paribas Open on Thursday, October 7th, 2021.
Will Jan-Lennard Struff get his form back here in Indian Wells after a fair few months of struggles in his matches, or will Daniel Elahi Galan show us that he should not be taken lightly as he can pack a punch in his matches?
Daniel Elahi Galan is an underrated player as he has a great overall game, having the ability to play both in a style where he aims to win points quickly, or staying in the rallies for a long time. However, Galan is not able to make his breakthrough as he is not always consistent. Galan showed great matches in ATP 250 conditions at times this year, and he will know that although this is an ATP Masters 1000 tournament here at Indian Wells, he has a strong chance as he meets a somewhat out of form Jan-Lennard Struff.
Jan-Lennard Struff is looking to find the form which he played with for the first half of 2021 where he was able to go somewhat far in most tournaments (mainly ATP 250s) through his big serve and forehand. However, with a current 1-5 W/L since the hard court season started, Struff needs to find his form now as it will just get harder and harder as the season goes on. Struff will know he has a good start to the draw on paper, but he will have to ensure he does not take Daniel Elahi Galan too lightly.
Neither player has met each other before, with this being their first ATP Tour meeting. Although Galan is underrated at times I believe, he is just not as consistent as he needs to be to get far into tournaments week in and week out. Jan-Lennard is in a bit of a rough patch, but if he is able to get some early wins under his belt here in Indian Wells, I am sure he can show us why he is so hard to beat with his huge serve and forehand.
