Cameron Norrie vs Pablo Andujar 6/27/22 Wimbledon Tennis Picks, Predictions, Odds

Cameron Norrie will meet Pablo Andujar in the First Round of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. The match is scheduled to be played on Monday June 27th, 2022.

Ninth seeded Cameron Norrie of Great Britain is the 12th ranked player in the world, and the British number one enters Wimbledon with high hopes. However, his preparation was far from ideal as he struggled to a 1-2 record across Queen’s and Eastbourne. His loss to Dimitrov at Queen’s was excusable, but he really should have won the match against Maxime Cressy at Eastbourne. He served poorly and gave the American too many chances to break, something that was suicide against the huge server. Norrie will have to be much improved if he is to better last year’s Third Round result at Wimbledon, but the draw is set up quite nicely in his favor here.

Pablo Andujar is unseeded here at the Wimbledon Championships and is ranked #100 in the world. The Spaniard is a very capable and experienced player, but grass has never been his surface. In fact, he has only won three matches on it throughout his entire career, a shocking statistic for the veteran. He is the huge underdog here against the ninth seeded Cameron Norrie but he should certainly not be underestimated, as the Brit has been struggling and lacks a major weapon. If Andujar is able to be aggressive and limit his errors he could make this interesting, but it is doubtful he will have enough firepower to trouble Norrie for long.

Despite his recent struggles, Cameron Norrie should win this match with relative ease. He is the much better player on this surface and even though he is not at 100%, Andujar has been struggling on grass for his entire career. This is exactly the type of match that Norrie needs in order to find some form and I am expecting a comfortable, straight sets win for Britain’s #1 here.
