The top ranked Brit dropped the first set in his Round of 16 win over Jordan Thompson, before recovering to win and set up this match against Sebastian Korda. Hitting five aces and serving almost 80%, Norrie played extremely well in the second and third sets but will need his level to be higher if he is to defeat the impressive Korda for a spot in the Semi-Finals here at Queen’s.
Sebastian Korda is unseeded here at the 2023 Queen’s Championships and ranked 32nd in the world. The American is only 11-5 on the season but has been extremely impressive here this week, upsetting the in-form Frances Tiafoe 7-6, 6-3 in the Round of 16. Korda has a big game and likes to attack the net, a strategy that can be hugely profitable on grass if executed correctly. Cam Norrie is undoubtedly the favorite, but Korda has immense upside and if he serves well then anything is possible.
Cam Norrie is the obvious favorite, especially at home but I am going with Sebastian Korda to cause his second successive upset here at the 2023 Queen’s Championships. The American’s game is perfectly suited to this surface and based on his interviews, he is supremely confident in his abilities. It will be tough and likely three sets, but give me the young American to serve his way to victory and move on to the Semi-Finals.
