Coco Gauff (24) meets Barbora Krejcikova in the quarter finals of the 2021 French Open on Wednesday, June 9th 2021.
Which of these two very talented players will come out on top in this match as they have both played some superb tennis all tournament here in Paris? Will it be the doubles experienced player or the up and coming star who looks to take tennis in the next few years?
Barbora Krejcikova was able to beat the very in form Sloane Stephens in the fourth round, beating her in 2 sets 6-2/6-0. The match was just a demolition from Krejcikova who was able to get everything going her way and ensuring she was getting on top of each point before Stephens could even think. Barbora is not very well known in the singles circuit, but she is definitely making a name for herself this year. Barbora will know believe in her game and her abilities, but she will have to ensure she is at her best against an always tough Coco Gauff.
Coco Gauff also put on a strong performance in her fourth round match against Ons Jabeur, beating her in 2 sets 6-3/6-1. Coco Gauff is so hard to beat when she is playing at this level, and this is because she is able to use the right mixture of power, accuracy, and speed around the court. Coco Gauff is still very young, but she is showing us amazing tennis throughout this tournament and she is definitely playing at a much higher level than anyone her age in the world, just showing us why she is special.
This is going to be the 1st meeting between both players, and we are definitely in for an extremely tight match here in Paris. Both of them have played some great tennis all tournament and they will come out here ready to give everything and leave it all on the court, however, I see Coco Gauff coming out on top of this one. Coco Gauff is so young, so determined, and she knows she deserves to be in this spot, whilst Krejcikova is still trying to adapt to the singles tour. This will allow Gauff to succeed here.
