Paris Masters: Milos Raonic vs. Aljaz Bedene 11/03/20 Tennis Prediction

Milos Raonic begins his 2020 Paris Masters campaign as he meets Aljaz Bedene in the first round on Tuesday, October 3rd 2020. Will Raonic continue to dominate on indoor hard courts, or will Bedene be able to cause the shocking upset?
Milos Raonic has been extremely solid on indoor hard courts as of recent, reaching the semifinals of the 2020 St. Petersburg Open, reaching the quarterfinals of the 2020 Antwerp Open (only to have to retire due to injury), and he is now looking to make his way through the pack here in Paris. Raonic’s game thrives on courts like these as he is able to hit one-two punches by serving big and using his forehand to win the point instantly. Raonic is going to have to ensure he is fully fit however as two weeks ago he retired in Antwerp due to adnominal injury which is not treated properly can be long-is in recovery length.
Aljaz Bedene is a very solid player when he is on top of his game, and just last year at this tournament he was able to achieve the biggest win of his career, beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. Bedene knows that this match is going to be harder as Raonic is more motivated than Tsitsipas was last year, and on these surfaces, it is hard to return a big server like Raonic. Bedene will be looking back at their meeting 2 weeks ago and will hope he can take some lessons from that loss and perhaps chance things up here.
This is going to be the 5th meeting between both players, with Milos Raonic leading the head to head 4-0. I expect this to be a straight sets Milos Raonic victory in my opinion, similar as it was two weeks ago in Antwerp. Raonic has one of the best serves in the game, including his second serve, and he is able to take control of matches on these indoor hard court surfaces. Bedene will try different tactics, but at the end of the day, he will not have enough to take control and win here.
