Roberto Bautista Agut vs. Dominik Koepfer 9/23/20 Hamburg Open Tennis Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Roberto Bautista Agut meets Dominik Koepfer in the second round of the 2020 Hamburg Open on Wednesday, September 23rd 2020. This is going to be a tight encounter with both players being in form and playing some of their best tennis as of recent. Will it be the consistent RBA, or the newfound Koepfer to get the job done?

Dominik Koepfer has been extremely solid in the last week or so, putting on some big performances both in Rome and here. His most impressive performance has to have been when he encountered Novak Djokovic in Rome, and managed to be the only player able to take a set off of the World No.1 and he did it quite comfortably. Koepfer can play a strong game and has been able to put on strong performances which indicates we will hopefully see him performing at this level more and more often in the near future, potentially even at Roland Garros.

Roberto Bautista Agut came through an easy first round encounter against the 2x defending champion, Nikoloz Basilashvili, defeating him in straight sets. RBA is one of the most consistent guys on the tour and you always know what you are going to get from him when he steps onto the court. RBA has a solid serve, and his baseline rallying ability is one of the best in the game. RBA will continue to send balls back to you until you try and hit a winner and end up hitting an error. This is what makes RBA one of the best players in the world.

This is going to be the first meeting between both players, and although Koepfer has had some big wins and big performances under his belt recently, I still back the Spaniard to come through this one with relative ease. RBA will play long and draining rallies and we know that Koepfer is a bit impatient at some times. This will allow RBA to draw the errors from his opponent and get on top of this match. I would expect this to be a straight sets victory, but to be cautious I’d just take the moneyline for RBA.
