These two have split the previous 10 meetings, with Rublev winning the most recent match last year in Turin. Tsitsipas is 2-1 against Rublev on clay. Five of the 10 meetings have been decided in straight sets.
Rublev is capable of winning this match, and he’s had success against Tsitsipas obviously, so he is a live dog. However, Tsitsipas is just the safer bet, as he’s the better player when he’s in good form, he has more big match experience, and he’s beaten Rublev in two of the three meetings on clay. Tsitsipas is also coming off a serving clinic and there’s not many capable of beating him when he’s hitting his spots like that.
Give me Tsitsipas, and I’ll take him in straight sets to shave down the price.
