Ugo Humbert vs. Jiri Vesely 9/24/20 Hamburg Open Tennis Pick, Odds, and Prediction

Ugo Humbert meets Jiri Vesely in the second round of the 2020 Hamburg Open on Thursday, September 24th 2020. Will Humbert provide another incredible performance after his win against Medvedev, or will Vesely get the better of the young Frenchman?

Ugo Humbert put on an incredible performance against Daniil Medvedev on Tuesday, beating the No.1 seed and world No.5 in straight sets. Humbert looked sluggish at the beginning of the match and went behind a break. However, he then gave it his all and absolutely demolished Medvedev who might have taken this match a bit too lightly. Humbert secured his first top 10 win in his career and now is going to be filled with confidence as he will know he can beat the best of the best if he gives it his all. Humbert will want to go further here in Hamburg and reach the quarterfinals.

Jiri Vesely did not impress that much in his first round match against Giles Simon, but I think Simon handed him the victory. Vesely did not do anything spectacular or put in incredible effort to win that match, Simon was just terrible on the other end of the court. Vesely is very talented and he knows he can beat solid players. But if he is to beat Humbert here, he is going to have to put in much more effort as he will not go anywhere here in Hamburg without putting in a solid performance against someone who gave it his all against Daniil Medvedev.

This is going to be the first meeting between these two players and it is not going to be a tight one in my opinion. Vesely is a good player, but he is more of a challenger level player. Giles Simon handed him the victory and I think he will not beat another Frenchman in Ugo Humbert. Humbert will be filled with confidence and momentum to get him to the quarterfinals here in Hamburg and he will definitely give it his all. Humbert will win this match, and he will do it swiftly, in straight sets.
