Portland Trail Blazers vs Utah Jazz Prediction 12-14-23 NBA Picks

The Utah Jazz travel to the Moda Center to take on the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday night. Here’s a Jazz vs Trail Blazers prediction.

Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz have been in poor form as they’ve lost five of their last seven games overall, but they will be feeling much better after snapping a three-game skid with a 117-113 win over the Knicks last night. Collin Sexton led the team with 26 points and seven assists on 10 of 18 shooting, Lauri Markkanen added 23 points while Simone Fontecchio and Talen Horton-Tucker scored 15 points each. As a team, the Jazz shot 43 percent from the field and 16 of 42 from the 3-point line as they held the Knicks to just 19 points in the second quarter to erase an early 10-point lead, before they exploded for 37 points to build a 17-point lead, which was enough to escape with the narrow win at home.

Portland Trail Blazers

Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers will be hoping to put an end to a four-game slide after coming up short against the Clippers in a 132-127 road loss on Monday. Anfernee Simons led the team with 38 points on 10 of 23 shooting, Shaedon Sharpe added 27 points with six assists while Scoot Henderson chipped in with 19 points and six assists off the bench. As a team, the Trail Blazers shot 47 percent from the field and 19 of 40 from the 3-point line as they worked their way back from an early 14-point deficit to take the lead late in the fourth quarter, only to see the Clippers close the final 1:13 on a 10-4 run to snatch the game from them in the end.

Jazz vs Trail Blazers prediction

The Jazz are still missing Jordan Clarkson, John Collins and Keyonte George, while the Trail Blazers are still missing Jerami Grant and they have Malcom Brogdon and Deandre Ayton listed as questionable. The Jazz were able to snap out of their funk with a much-needed win over the Knicks last night, but now that have to take on the Trail Blazers who were more than competitive against the red-hot Clippers in their last outing. The Trail Blazers also have the advantage of extra rest as they haven’t played since Monday, so I’ll back them to get the job done at home against this Jazz team playing on zero days’ rest.
