The Minnesota Lynx can win their fourth WNBA title in franchise history with a victory here. The Minnesota Lynx are averaging 84.8 points on 47.9 percent shooting and allowing 74.5 points on 42.4 percent shooting. Sylvia Fowles is averaging 18.9 points and 10.4 rebounds while Maya Moore is averaging 17.3 points and 3.5 assists. Seimone Augustus is the third double-digit scorer and Rebekkah Brunson is grabbing 6.7 rebounds. The Minnesota Lynx are shooting 38 percent from beyond the arc and 76.8 percent from the free throw line. The Minnesota Lynx are allowing 31.8 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 35.2 rebounds per game. The Minnesota Lynx have won seven of their last eight home games.
The Sparks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games, 4-1 ATS in their last 5 WNBA Championship games and 23-8 ATS in their last 31 games overall. The Lynx are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Western Conference, 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games following a ATS win and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 WNBA Championship games. The Sparks are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Minnesota, 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and the under is 23-9 in the last 32 meetings.
The Sparks have been the better team this series overall and even in their game four loss by 11 points, they held the Lynx to 42.4 percent shooting and forced 17 turnovers. The Los Angeles Sparks have to like their chances even if this deciding game is on the road. However, when said and done, I'm backing the Lynx to get the job done here. The Minnesota Lynx have a team full of roughriders who usually rise to the occasion in big games, and the Sparks left that door open when they had a chance to close things out at home. While both teams are great, you usually don't get a second chance to put teams away. Also, the Sparks beat the Lynx at home last season to win the title. You can bet Moore, Fowles and others will do everything to make sure it's a different outcome this time around. I look for the Lynx to win and cover the reasonble number.
See you next season!
