The Phoenix Mercury and Indiana Fever meet Wednesday in WNBA action at the IMG Academy.

The Phoenix Mercury look for a bounce back showing after getting smoked in their opener to the Los Angeles Sparks. The Phoenix Mercury are averaging 76 points on 44.3 percent shooting and allowing 99 points on 55.9 percent shooting. Diana Taurasi is averaging 16 points and two rebounds while Skylar Diggins-Smith is averaging 14 points and six assists. Bria Hartley is the third double-digit scorer and Brittney Griner is dishing three assists. The Phoenix Mercury are shooting 32.1 percent from beyond the arc and 61.9 percent from the free throw line. The Phoenix Mercury are allowing 45 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 32 rebounds per game.

The Indiana Fever also need a win here after losing their opener to the Washington Mystics. The Indiana Fever are averaging 76 points on 39.4 percent shooting and allowing 101 points on 55.9 percent shooting. Kelsey Mitchell is averaging 25 points and three assists while Tiffany Mitchell is averaging 15 points and three rebounds. Candice Dupree is the third double-digit scorer and Victoria Vivians is grabbing two rebounds. The Indiana Fever are shooting 30.8 percent from beyond the arc and 80 percent from the free throw line. The Indiana Fever are allowing 41.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 28 rebounds per game.

The Mercury are 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Indiana and 10-1 ATS in the last 11 meetings. The over is 5-0 in the last 5 meetings in Indiana and 7-1 in the last 8 meetings.

While both of these teams lost their season opener, it’s safe to assume the Phoenix Mercury are the better team here and should be a little more motivated for a bounce back showing. Diggins-Smith also looked good in her Phoenix debut, which is a terrific sign for this team moving forward. The Indiana Fever are still la young team that wasn’t good last season, and while they should be improved, giving up 101 points on 55.9 percent shooting doesn’t look good. This line is more than reasonable to back the Mercury here.
