The Washington Mystics and New York Liberty face off on Friday in a WNBA showdown at the Entertainment and Sports Arena. 

The Washington Mystics are still looking for their first win of the season after losing each of the first two games. The Mystics lost their first game of the season before losing the last game against the Phoenix Mercury. In the first game of the season the Mystics only managed 56 points and that led to the defeat. In the last game it was the defense that was the issue giving up 91 points. On the season, the Washington Mystics are averaging 63 points per game while their defense is giving up 80,5 points per game. Tina Charles has really been the only bright spot for the Mystics this team averaging 18 points and nine rebounds per game. In this game if they want to win, the Mystics are going to need to find a way to get their offense going. 

On the other side of this matchup is the New York Liberty who have won each of their first three games of the season. In the last game against the Minnesota Lynx it was the offense that was the difference putting up 86 points and that led to the easy victory. On the season, the New York Liberty are averaging 83 points per game while their defense is giving up 75.7 points per game. Betnijah Laney has been the best player for the Liberty averaging 23.3 points while shooting 53.2 percent from the field. Sabrina Ionescu has also been a strong player this year averaging 21 points while shooting 39.5 percent from the field. In this game it’s going to be about the offense running up the score again.
