The Chicago Sky and Las Vegas Aces face off on Friday in a WNBA basketball showdown at the Wintrust Arena. These two teams have faced off twice so far this month, and they have split the series. In the last game the Sky won 92-84.

The Chicago Sky sits with a 15-15 record overall which puts them in second place in the Eastern Conference. The biggest issue all season for the Sky has been their inconsistency, and coming into this game they have lost three of their last four games. Against the Washington Mystics in the last game, the Sky got out to a slow start scoring only 14 points in the 1st quarter, something they couldn’t rebound from. The Sky like to play at a faster pace averaging 83.2 points per game while giving up 81.1 points per game. Kahleah Cooper has been the best player for the Sky averaging 14.4 points while shooting 45.2 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is the Las Vegas Aces who sit with a 22-8 record overall and that puts them in 1st place in the Western Conference. The Aces are playing for a bye, and losing this game would be a big blow. The Aces have won two games in a row, and they were able to beat the Dallas Wings 85-75 in their last game. The Las Vegas Aces are averaging 89 points per game while their defense is giving up 80.4 points per game. A’Ja Wilson is the star of this team averaging 18.7 points while shooting 44.5 percent from the field. Liz Cambage is also averaging 14.7 points while shooting 54.5 percent from the field.

In the two games between the SKy and Aces this month, there has been plenty of scoring by both teams. I expect an up and down game with very little defense being played by either squad. Back the over.
