Connecticut Sun vs. Chicago Sky 9/30/21 WNBA Pick, Odds, and Predictions

Chicago Sky vs. Connecticut Sun
September 30, 2021 7:00 pm EDT

The Connecticut Sun and Chicago Sky face off on Thursday in a WNBA playoff showdown at Mohegan Sun Arena. The first game of this series took double-overtime and it was the Chicago Sky that won 101-95.

The first half of that game was a high-scoring affair, but in the second half, it took a slower pace. The Sky’s best player was Candace Parker who played 39 minutes and finished 22 points, six assists, and five rebounds. The best player for the Connecticut Sun was Jonquel Jones and she finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists.

The Sun had won 12 games in a row before they lost the first game of this playoff series. The Sun’s offense is good, and each of the last three games they have scored at least 84 points. The Suns are averaging 79.7 points per game while their defense is giving up 69.9 points per game. Jones has been the best player for the Sun averaging 19.4 points while shooting 51.5 percent from the field. The Sun has four different players averaging at least ten points per game. In this game, the Sun needs the defense to lock down the Sky, and not let them hang around.

On the other side of this matchup is the Chicago Sky who have won all three playoff games so far this season. The Sky’s offense has been elite as of late, and that is going to need to continue in this game. On the season the Sky are averaging 83.3 points per game while their defense is giving up 81.9 points per game. Kahleah Copper has been the best player for the Sky averaging 14.4 points while shooting 45.9 percent from the field and 30.6 percent from behind the three-point line.

The Sky has proven they aren’t going to go away, no matter who they are facing. I expect another big game from Candace Parker and she is going to be a difference-maker in this game. Back the Sky against the spread.
