June 10, 2022 7:00 pm EDT

The Connecticut Sun and Chicago Sky face off on Friday in a WNBA showdown at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Chicago Sky comes into this game with a 7-4 record overall and as they have split the last two games against the Washington Mystics, the Sky made quite the comeback, outscoring the Mystics 25-15, but it wasn’t enough as they lost by two points. The Sky are averaging 81.7 points, while their defense is giving up 77 points per game. Chicago’s offense is ranked 4th, while their defense is also ranked 4th. Overall, the Sky likes to keep the pace slower and are 8th in the WNBA. Kahleah Cooper has been the top player for the Sky, averaging 13.6 points while shooting 43.4 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is the Connecticut Sun, who sits with a 10-3 record overall, and they are coming off another big victory. The offense put up 88 points against the Indiana Fever, and that secured the 19-point victory. The Sun are averaging 87.7 points, while their defense is giving up 77.5 points per game. The offense is ranked second-best in the league, while their defense is ranked 5th. The top player this season for the Sun is Jonquel Jones, and she is averaging 15.6 points while shooting 55.1 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from behind the three-point line.

The Sky has been good this season, but they have been more inconsistent than the Sun. The Sun are averaging close to 90 points per game, and they are going to run up the score here. The Sky isn’t going to score enough here, and Connecticut will cover the spread.
