Connecticut Sun vs. Atlanta Dream
June 26, 2022 3:00 pm EDT

The Atlanta Dream and Connecticut Sun face off on Sunday in a WNBA showdown at The Gateway Center @ College Park.

The Atlanta Dream currently sit with an 8-9 record overall, and in the last game they didn’t look great. The defense gave up 89 points and that led to the 12-point loss. The offense only scored 13 points in the 4th quarter and that led to the victory. The Dream are averaging 78.1 points, while their defense is giving up 78.9 points per game. The offense is ranked 11th, but the defense is ranked 4th. Rhyne Howard has been the top player for the Dream, averaging 16.4 points while shooting 38.8 percent from the field and 38.7 percent from behind the three-point line.

On the other side of this matchup is the Connecticut Sun, who sits with a 12-6 record overall, but they have lost two games in a row. Two games ago against the Washington Mystics, the Sun’s offense only scored 63 points and that led to the defeat. In the last game against the New York Liberty, the defense gave up 81 points, and they lost by four points. The Sun are averaging 85.9 points, while their defense is giving up 78.1 points per game. The offense is ranked second in the league, while their defense is ranked 3rd. Jonquel Jones has been the top player, averaging 14.9 points while shooting 51.9 percent from the field.

The Sun have struggled a little as of late, but this is a much easier game going against the Dream. The Sun’s offense has been strong all season, averaging almost 86 points per game, and their offense is going to be too much in this game. Back the Sun to come away with a cover of the spread.
