Dallas Wings vs. Minnesota Lynx
June 28, 2022 7:00 pm EDT

The Minnesota Lynx and Dallas Wings face off on Tuesday in a WNBA showdown at the Target Center. When these two teams faced off on May 21st, it was the Wings that secured the 94-78 victory.

The Minnesota Lynx sit with a 5-14 record overall, but don’t let that fool you, they are playing a lot better basketball as of late. In the last game against the Chicago Sky, they made the comeback late, but it was a buzzer-beater that beat them. Even against good teams as of late, the Lynx have been competitive. The Lynx are averaging 80.2 points, while their defense is giving up 84.5 points per game. The offense is ranked 7th, while their defense is ranked 9th overall. Sylvia Fowles has been the top player for the Lynx, averaging 16 points while shooting 41.4 percent from the field.

On the other side of this matchup is the Wings who sit with a 9-10 record overall and in the last game against the Phoenix Mercury they lost by 11 points. This is the same Mercury team that the Lynx have beaten twice in the last few weeks. Two games ago, against the Indiana Fever, the Wings secured the 94-68 victory. The Wings are averaging 81.9 points, while their defense is giving up 81 points. The Wings’ offense is ranked 4th in the league, while their defense is ranked 7th overall. Arike Ogunbowale has been the top player for the Wings, averaging 19.5 points while shooting 40.3 percent from the field and 37 percent from behind the three-point line.

The Lynx have looked more impressive as of late, and I expect they are going to find success again in this game. The Wings’ defense didn’t look good in the last game, and they are going to struggle to defend in this game. I expect the Lynx will get over their season average of 80 points, and Minnesota will secure the victory. Back the Lynx against the spread.
