The New York Liberty and Los Angeles Sparks face off on Wednesday in a WNBA showdown at the Barclays Center. These two teams faced off on Tuesday, and it was the Liberty that were able to secure the 102-73 victory.

It was the second and third quarters that were the difference, as the Liberty were able to cruise to the victory. Sabrina Ionescu had a big game for the Liberty, putting up 31 points and six rebounds.

The Liberty comes into this game with a 12-18 record overall, and they have won two games in a row. In each of the last two games, the offense was strong, and they are going to need the offense to be strong again here. The Liberty are averaging 79.4 points, while their defense is giving up 93.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 10th in the league, while their defense is ranked 7th. Sabrina Ionescu is having a big season, averaging 16.9 points while shooting 40.9 percent from the field and 34 percent from behind the three-point line.

On the other side of this matchup is the Sparks, who sit with a 12-18 record, and they have lost four games in a row. On Tuesday the defense was awful and if they want any chance to win this game they are going to need the defense to be better. The Sparks are averaging 80.4 points, while their defense is giving up 85.5 points per game. The offense is ranked 7th in the league, while their defense is ranked 11th. Nneka Ogwumike has been the top player, averaging 18.7 points while shooting 55.7 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from behind the three-point line.

Playing the same team two nights in a row is tough, but I still think there is a ton of value with the Liberty. New York scored 102 points on Tuesday night, and the Sparks defense isn’t going to magically improve overnight. Look for the Liberty to run up the score again and that will be the difference as New York gets the job done. Back the Liberty against the spread.
