The Los Angeles Sparks and Connecticut Sun face off on Tuesday in a WNBA showdown at Crypto.com Arena. When these two teams faced off on May 14th it was the Sun that were able to secure the 77-60 victory.

The Sparks come into this game with a 13-20 record overall, but they were able to secure a key win on Sunday against the Washington Mystics. It was a big second quarter that was the difference as the Sparks were able to secure the 79-76 victory. The Sparks are averaging 79.8 points, while their defense is giving up 85.4 points per game. The Sparks offense is ranked 8th in the league, while their defense is ranked 11th. Far too often this season, the Sparks defense has been bad and has really let them down. Nneka Ogwumike has been the top player for the Sparks, averaging 18.5 points while shooting 55.6 percent from the field and 38.2 percent from behind the three-point line.

On the other side of this matchup is the Sun, who sit with a 22-11 record overall, but they are coming off a loss on Sunday. The Sky’s defense gave up 94 points to Chicago and that was the difference as they were defeated by three points. The Sun are averaging 84.9 points, while their defense is giving up 77.6 points per game. The offense is ranked 3rd in the league, while their defense is ranked 3rd in the league. The Sun wants to push the pace, but even with that, their defense has been good for the most part overall. Jonquel Jones has been the top player for the Sun, averaging 14.3 points while shooting 49 percent from the field.

The Sun are the better team here, and the Sparks defense is giving up 85.4 points per game. I expect the Sun will push the pace here and that will be the difference as they are going to cruise to the victory here. Back the Sun against the spread.
