Chicago Sky vs. Las Vegas Aces
August 11, 2022 10:00 pm EDT

The Las Vegas Aces and Chicago Sky face off on Thursday in a WNBA showdown at Michelob ULTRA Arena. When these two teams faced off on July 26th it was Aces that were able to secure the 93-83 victory.

The Aces come into this game with a 24-10 record overall, and they have won five games in a row. In the last game against the Atlanta Dream, the offense scored 97 points and that was enough to win by seven points. Two games ago against the Seattle Storm, the Aces won 89-81. The Aces are averaging 89.9 points, while their defense is giving up 83.8 points per game. The offense is ranked 1st in the league, while their defense is ranked 9th in the league. The top offensive player for the Aces has been Kelsey Plum and she is averaging 19.9 points while shooting 45.4 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from behind the three-point line.

On the other side of this matchup is the Chicago Sky, but they are coming off a disappointing loss in their last game. The defense gave up 111 points to the Seattle Storm and that led to the 11 point defeat. The Sky are averaging 86.6 points, while their defense is giving up 81.4 points per game. The offense is ranked second in the league, while their defense is ranked 4th in the league. The top player for the Sky has been Kahleah Copper, and she is averaging 15.5 points while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from behind the three point line. In this game if the Sky want to secure the win they are going to need the defense to find a way to slow down the Aces.

The Aces love to push the pace, and the Sky are coming off a game where the defense really struggled. The Aces defense also isn’t elite, giving up 83.8 points per game, and they are going to struggle to defend against the Chicago offense. Look for the Aces and Sky to both get over 100 points, and the over is going to cash.
